Mrs. Johnson

Hi,

My name is Mrs. Johnson and I teach Special Needs Students here at Frankfort Elementary.     My day is spent helping small groups of students who need a little extra help.  Please stop in for a visit, I am always looking for helpers and volunteers.

Helping your Child Be a Better Reader

Dear Parents,

To succeed in school, your child needs
to be a skillful reader.  You can help your child be a good reader by doing some reading activities at home.  Try some of the activities suggested below:

*MAIL CALL:  When you sort the mail, let your child open and read aloud to you advertisements and general announcements.

*READ TRAFFIC SIGNS:  When you are traveling by car, have a passenger read aloud the traffic signs along the way.  Discuss the meaning of the signs with your child.

What Is Special Education?
Special Education is specially designed instruction, at no cost to the parent, to meet the unique needs of a child with a disability. Michigan’s Mandatory Special Education ACT (P.A. 451 of 1976) and the Individuals with Disabilities Act (IDEA) Amendments of 1997 (P.L. 105-17 of 1997) guarantee all persons with disabilities (ages 0-25) the right to a free and appropriate public education (FAPE).
