Frankfort-Elberta Area Schools open enrollment window for schools of choice will be open from May 27 to June 21, 2024. This applies to Grades 1 - 12. We will not be accepting applications for Kindergarten students. If parents have any questions about the process, please call Frankfort-Elberta Area School’s Superintendent’s Office at 231-352-4641.

Frankfort-Elberta Area Schools offers kindergarten five full days a week. If you have a child who will be 5 years of age by September 1, 2024 we ask that you call Frankfort Elementary at 352-7601 to register your child for kindergarten.

Section 6(4)(iii) of the State School Aid Act provides that if a child does not meet the minimum age requirement to be eligible to attend school for that school year under Section 1147, but will be 5 years of age not later than December 1 of that school year, the district may enroll the child for that school year if the parent or legal guardian has notified the district in writing that he or she intends to enroll the child in kindergarten for that school year.

The following forms and requested information shall be completed and turned in prior to your child attending his/her first day at school with Frankfort-Elberta Area Schools:

-Immunization record in accordance with state statute. Students who enroll in a public school who do not have up-to-date immunizations or an authorized waiver will not be allowed to attend school until appropriate paperwork is on file in the school office. [view immunization requirements]

-Certified birth certificate or other birth documentation if accompanied by a birth affidavit (A birth affidavit form can be obtained from any school office)

-Proof of residency for all incoming students: An acceptable proof of residency may be a utility bill or lease which show a physical address. A driver’s license will not be sufficient.

-2023-24 Student Device Handbook and Insurance Contract - These two forms can be filled out once a PowerSchool Parent Portal account is created. You can do this here. Please email mtiesworth@frankfort.k12.mi.us if you need any assistance with your child's AccessID and AccessPW used to connect your child to your account.

All students must have a signed agreement before using a device. Parents are also given the option to purchase insurance through the school at $25 per school year.
